Functional safety has become an increasingly important issue across all areas of industry. Was the Boeing 737 Max 8 crash incident a random failure or a systematic failure that was avoidable? Was the 2 MTR trains crash in Hong Kong in March 2019 a specification error that could be avoided if the safety life cycle process was adopted?
Functional Safety is a systematic approach to risk reduction for the purpose of protecting personnel and the environment. It uses the safety life cycle model to manage the process from risk assessment to operation and maintenance of the safety system.
ITMation is experienced in designing Functional Safety systems for machinery controls that have been certified by TÜV in satisfying all relevant aspects of Functional Safety according to IEC 62061.

Certified PROFIsafe Designer is a program initiated by PI International and the aim is to develop a group of designers that are familiar with the IEC 61508 and IEC 62061 standards and the architecture and implementation principles of the PROFIsafe protocol for industrial automation systems.
